Magnificent formal gardens overlooking the River Thames.
A country retreat on a grand scale, Clivedens magnificent gardens and breath-taking views have been admired for centuries.
Cliveden was once the glittering hub of society; visited by virtually every British Monarch since George I and home to Waldorf and Nancy Astor in the early 20th century. Cliveden was renowned for hosting exclusive parties and political gatherings, and later became infamously associated with the Profumo Affair.
Today, the whole family can relax whilst exploring the stunning gardens, peaceful woodlands and Thames riverbank.
The house is now a private hotel and timed ticket guided tours of part of the interior are available on Thursday and Sunday afternoons between April and October.
Weve lots of fun things for families to do together, such as following one of our trails or solving the Maze. There's also plenty of space to run around and let of steam and our Storybook Play Den.
For an extra special treat take a ride on one of our flotilla of boats and cruise the prettiest stretch of the Thames.
As well as skippered trips we also have a self-drive boat station where you can hire rowing and motor boats.
